Apostolos Pittas is a graduate student in philosophy at the University of Colorado Boulder, specializing in moral and political philosophy. His interdisciplinary background, shaped by advanced training in philosophy, politics, economics, and law (PPEL), guides and informs his research and teaching.

He serves as a funded Teaching Assistant at the University of Colorado Boulder for courses such as War & Morality (Spring 2026), Bioethics (Fall 2025, Summer 2025, and Spring 2025), Philosophy and the International Order (Spring 2025), and Symbolic Logic (Fall 2024).

He has also taught a broad range of undergraduate courses in PPEL at colleges in Colorado and New York, including Front Range Community College, Community College of Aurora, Colorado Early Colleges Aurora, Long Island University Post, and the City University of New York. These include Introduction to Philosophy, Political Science, International Relations, American Government, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Political Economy, and Criminal Justice.

Previously, he worked for the State Attorney’s Office in Florida’s Sixth Judicial Circuit, serving the citizens of Pasco and Pinellas Counties.

Pittas holds a J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law; an M.Sc. in Economics from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne; an M.Sc. in International Relations from the London School of Economics; and an M.A. in Statecraft and National Security Affairs from the Institute of World Politics. He holds a B.A. in Economics from Columbia University; a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Philosophy from the Macaulay Honors College at the City University of New York; and a Certificate in Political Psychology from Stanford University.

Originally from Long Island, New York, Pittas descends from Chios, Greece, and now lives in Boulder, Colorado.
